Diamond Jubilee Year

Bangalore Amateur Radio Club will be completing 60 years in 2019 and it is proposed to celebrate the "Year 2019" as the Diamond Jubilee Year of Bangalore Amateur Radio Club - VU2ARC.

A series of events such as HF/VHF contests, ARDF contest, Field-day and Amateur Radio Promotional drives are planned during the year 2019, culminating in a grand Diamond Jubilee Year celebration in the second half of 2019 including an exclusive "BARC Club Night" for Life Members and their families.

We are inviting you to the Launch of the Diamond Jubilee Year - BARC - 2019 (DJY-BARC-2019) celebrations on this Sunday, 13 January 2019 at the Karnataka Scouts and Guides Hq., at 9.30 am following the breakfast.

All Hams and SWLs are welcome to this inaugural function.

Bangalore Amateur Radio Club (BARC) - is among the oldest Amateur Radio Clubs in India BARC was founded in the year 1959 by a handful of like minded HAM Radio Operators and Shortwave Listeners. Since its Inceptions, BARC has strived to promote Amateur Radio as a Hobby to the General Public.

BARC was instrumental in supporting Radio and Electronics Enthusiasts in Home-Brewing, DX-ing, Rally Communications, Disaster Management and a host of activities which surrounds the ambit of Amateur Radio.

BARC has a Club Callsign - VU2ARC 

BARC is currently registered under the Karnataka State Registered Society's Act to carry out its functions as club.

With a History for about 60 Years now, the Club derives its 150+ Members from various walks of life and from different countries with a common interest - AMATEUR RADIO!
